Hub Motor Kits for Ebike Conversion

Rear-hub conversion programs for city, folding and fat hosts — specified per host frame, against the hub systems this factory builds into its complete bikes.

Hub kits are the straightforward conversion: the motor lives in the rear wheel, the drivetrain of the host bike stays untouched, and installation is a wheel swap plus controller, display and battery fitting. The reference points for these programs are the hub motors the factory ships in its complete bikes — Bafang G-series rear hubs (G010 at 250W, G020 at 500W, G060/G062 at 500–750W, H700 at 250W) and LAX and integrated-wheel motors across the fat and folding lines. The motor in a given program is confirmed against the host frame in the build sheet.

Hub Classes, by Production Example

250W rear hub: the city and folding standard (the C1/C7 city line, the F-series folders) — pairs with 36V batteries and suits markets with 250W limits. 500W rear hub: the volume class, used from commuter bikes (C9, C17) to fat bikes (B12, B14, B18); 48V systems. 750W rear hub: fat-bike and utility territory (B10, B8-U, B25), where tire volume and payloads are larger. Integrated-wheel motors: the motor and wheel as one unit (B16, B20, B23, and the spokeless M6A) — the fleet-friendly option with no spoke maintenance.

Configuration Points

Dropout width and axle standard of the host, wheel size and tire clearance, brake type (rim or disc — most production hub builds here are disc), controller current matched to the motor and battery, and the display/sensor set. Front-hub configurations are not part of this factory's production range, so hub kit programs here are rear-hub programs; if your brief requires a front hub, tell us and we will say plainly whether we can support it.

Before you order: kit contents are not published as a fixed catalogue. Send your host frame and target-market requirements in the inquiry, and confirm the exact kit build sheet and pricing in writing before payment.

Questions Buyers Ask

Can I order samples first?

Yes — under the factory's published sample policy, spare units can be provided for sampling; the sample fee and courier cost are paid by the buyer. Confirm availability for the models you want when you inquire.

Hub kit or mid-drive kit for a rental fleet?

Hub kits, in most cases: simpler installation, no added chain wear, and wheel-level swaps for service. The comparison is worked through in the mid-drive vs hub motor guide.

How long does production take?

The published lead time is 30–60 days after the advance payment is received, depending on the product category and order quantity. Ask us to confirm the schedule for the exact models in your inquiry.

What certificates do the products carry?

Certificates available upon request. Send your target market in the inquiry and we will confirm which documentation can be provided for the models you are sourcing.

Two installation details decide whether a hub conversion feels factory-built or homemade. The first is torque reaction: a hub motor's axle wants to rotate in the dropouts under power, so correct washer stacks and, on higher-power or front installations, a torque arm are not optional hardware — they are the difference between a tight axle at year three and a spun axle in month two. The second is cable routing: route the motor cable with a drip loop below the axle so water runs off rather than into the motor, and leave enough slack at the connector to remove the wheel for a puncture without tools beyond the wheel nuts themselves.
